What Odoo AMC & Managed Services Actually Cover (2026 Buyer's Guide)

AMC, retainer, managed services, MoU — the terms get thrown around loosely. Here's exactly what each covers, what SLAs to demand, and how to pick the right one.

Once your ERP is live, keeping it fast, secure and evolving matters more than the build. But "support" means very different things across vendors. Here's what each tier should actually include.

The support ladder

  • Hourly / T&M — pay per fix. Fine for occasional tweaks; risky as your only safety net.
  • AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) — a fixed monthly fee for monitoring, backups, security patches, bug fixes and a bucket of change-hours, with a response SLA (e.g. 2–4h for critical).
  • Managed Services / MoU — we take full responsibility: 99.9% uptime SLA, 24×7 on-call, infra + app + support, staging, quarterly reviews.

SLAs you should insist on

Response time by severity, uptime commitment, backup frequency with tested restores, and a named escalation path. If a vendor won't put these in writing, that tells you something.
